Mauritania: the opening of an inquiry into the leak of baccalaureate results

The Ministry of National Education announced on Friday the opening of an investigation into the leak of baccalaureate results to determine the responsibilities, pledging to take all necessary measures.
The Ministry’s communique is the first official commentary after the leak of baccalaureate results on an anonymous website on early Friday. People in charge of the website had promised for more than a month to publish the baccalaureate exams.
The Ministry declared that it immediately put an inquiry commission charged of preparing a report, which determines the responsibilities and any possible misconducts.
The Ministry added that the appropriate measures would be taken based on the report’s findings.
It affirmed that the results published early on Friday are identical to the official results, making it more likely that the website got the results without changing them.
The premature publication of baccalaureate’s results by an anonymous website has stirred a widespread controversy among Mauritanians.
