Saudi minister: The Kingdom will dispatch a delegation to evaluate its projects in Mauritania

The Saudi Minister for African Affairs, Ahmed Ben Abdel Aziz Al Kahtane declared on Thursday that his country would dispatch soon a delegation from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) to evaluate the development projects funded in Mauritania and consider the possibility of funding new projects.

The declaration of the minister comes at the end of his meeting with the Mauritanian president, Mohamed O. Cheikh Ghazouani. During the meeting, both parties talked about the development projects funded by SFD, whose role was hailed by Mauritanian president, according to the Saudi Minister.

The minister added that during the meeting, they discussed the role which Saudi Arabia can play to reinforce the efforts of G5 Sahel in the fight against terrorism.

According to the Saudi official, the Mauritanian president praised and appreciated the vital role played by SFD in Mauritania.

The minister assured the Mauritanian president that the SFD contribution is an obligation and that bilateral relations between the two countries are historic and distinguished.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mauritanian Affairs, Ismael O. Cheikh Ahmed, Mohamed Ahmed O. Mohamed Lemine, director of the president of the republic’s cabinet, in charge of a mission at the presidency, Sidi Mohamed O. Bouna, in charge of a task at the presidency, and Saudi ambassador to Mauritania, Hezaa ben Zein ben Dawi Lemteyri.
