The Mauritanian Police arrested the businessman Bahay O. Gadda as part of the ongoing investigations on corruption operations stirred by the parliamentary committee of inquiry. In its report, the committee declared that a wide range of corruption had marked the reign of former president Mohamed O. Abdel Aziz.
Ould Gadda is considered one of Mauritania’s most prominent businessmen and close to former president Mohamed O. Abdel Aziz.
The Police have already listened to many businessmen, from the former president’s close circle within the framework of the same files of investigation, as well as to Ministers and other personalities that were included in the Parliamentary committee’s report
