Moroccan King offers condolences on death of former president Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi

The Moroccan King Mohammed VI sent Monday a telegram of congratulation and sympathy to the Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, following the death of former president Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi.
In the telegram, Mohammed VI said:” I have learned with deep emotion the death of the former president of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi, may Allah forgive him and grant him pardon and satisfaction.”
The Moroccan king expressed to the Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and through him to all members of the deceased’s family and the brotherly Mauritanian population his warmest condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy, imploring Allah, the Almighty,” to grant you all patience and solace and have his mercy on the deceased and makes his abode in His Spacious Gardens.”
The Moroccan Monarch added:” We ask Allah, the Almighty, to protect you and your brotherly country from all harm. Please accept your excellency Mr. president my sincere feelings of sympathy and highest considerations”, According to the telegram.
The late Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi died Sunday night in Nouakchott at the age of 82. Following his passing, Mauritania announced a three-day mourning period.
