CAF president banned by FIFA for five years

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the ban of the president of the African confederation of football, Ahmed Ahmed, for five years following corruption cases.

According to FIFA, Ahmed Ahmed was involved in Financial irregularities from 2017 to 2019, and several accusations and complaints against him were investigated.

In addition to the five-year ban, the CAF president must pay a fine of 200.000 Swiss francs.

As a result of the ban, the CAF president is excluded from the race for the presidency of the African confederation of football, which will be held after a few months in the Moroccan capital Rabat.
