Mauritania: The funding of 500 projects for the young of Guidimakha

The Minister of employment, youth and Sports, Taleb O. Sid’Ahmed, announced the funding of a series of projects for the young of Guidimakha as part of the fight against youth unemployment.

The Minister said that the second stage of project funding for the young, 500 projects would be launched scrupulously adhering to transparency and justice criteria by drawing lessons from the first phase.

The Minister made these declarations during a meeting in Sélibaby with the youth and sports associations in the region, stressing that youth employment constitutes a priority for those who bear the burden of unemployment.

Taleb O. Sid’Ahmed added that the Program would be launched next week in favor of the selected projects of “my project, my future” ‘s program, promising to amend the errors noted during dossiers selection in the previous stage.

The Minister also declared a new program,” My profession,” in favor of the young who did not have the chance to continue their education by training them in specific private trades and funding their small projects in the informal sector.

The president of the regional council of Guidimakha, Issa Coulibaly, praised the ministry’s efforts to integrate young people and fund their projects, focusing on the region’s agro-pastoral nature, which offers promising perspectives for training.

As for the deputy mayor of the city, Mohamed Mahmoud O. Matala, he welcomed everything that can help the youth change their situation and contribute to the country’s development.

The Minister visited the workshop for the consolidated brick production, destined to construct 50 housing units as part of the Program of the city of Sélibaby’s modernization.
